Question 1

Why would I hire a firm instead of just buying the software directly?

Accepted Answer

Implementation complexity, mostly — some categories, like ERP rollouts, security audits, or complex migrations, carry a real risk of getting it wrong without someone who's done it before. If the software itself is simple to set up, a services firm is usually unnecessary overhead.

Question 2

How do you list a services firm differently from a software product?

Accepted Answer

Each listing notes what it actually sells — a fixed-scope engagement, ongoing managed service, or hourly consulting — since those have very different pricing and commitment implications, unlike software where pricing is usually a flat subscription.

Question 3

Can I find firms that specialize in implementing a specific product I already use?

Accepted Answer

Where that specialization is public and verifiable — a vendor's official partner directory, for example — it's noted on the firm's listing. Search by the product name alongside "consulting" or "implementation" to surface those first.
