Zoekt is a text search engine that facilitates fast substring and regular expression matching on source code. It supports searching within individual repositories as well as across multiple repositories in a large codebase. The tool utilizes a rich query language with boolean operators and ranks search results based on code-related signals. It can be used via command-line commands for indexing and searching, or through an index server and web server for larger-scale operations.
