Question 1

This category is huge — where should I actually start?

Accepted Answer

Start from the subcategory closest to the specific gap in your toolchain — CI/CD, observability, IDEs, and so on — rather than browsing the whole portal. It spans everything from embedded and game dev to Web3, and most teams only need a handful of these at once.

Question 2

Do you cover both proprietary and open-source developer tools?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and we don't rank one above the other by default — self-hosted, source-available, and fully proprietary tools sit side by side, distinguished on each listing so you can filter by what actually matters to you: cost, control, or support.

Question 3

How do you handle tools that are really a platform with many modules, like a cloud provider?

Accepted Answer

Broad platforms are typically split into their component tools — compute, storage, CI/CD — and listed under the relevant subcategory for each, rather than as one entry. That makes them comparable to single-purpose competitors in the same subcategory.
